Colloque Gabon.

Gabon workshop. Université Omar Bongo and IGU are currently planning to organise a joint international workshop to take place in Libreville from Nov. 11 to 13, 2014, entitled “The global embeddedness of Africa. Perspectives adopted by African geographers” (followed by a field trip to Lambarene and Port Gentil). The intention is twofold: Firstly, to give African geographers a domestic, yet internationally embedded platform to make their views on challenges and opportunities of current globalisation processes better known in our union and, secondly, to encourage young francophone colleagues from sub-saharan countries in particular to considerably increase their participation in and engagement with IGU. As soon as organisational details are available, the meeting will be widely publicised through IGU’s normal means of circulation and this website.
