PRESENTATION
The Organizing Commission of the XIX Meeting of Geographies of Latin America and the Caribbean – EGALC is pleased to invite you to participate under the slogan “Role of Geography: Sustainable Development, Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change in Latin America and the Caribbean”, with the purpose of strengthening the production of geographic knowledge as a contribution to the construction of a more just, equitable, inclusive and supportive society, in full exercise of democracy.
This is a biannual event that has been consolidated in the light of a collective, committed, and critical work between teachers, researchers, professionals and students of the geographies. On this occasion, it is organized through the Dominican Association of Geographers – ADG, the Department of Geographic Sciences and the University Geographic Institute IGU-UASD who represent the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD); the National Geographic Institute “José Joaquín Hungría Morell” (IGN-JJHM) and the National Section of the PanAmerican Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH), all of the Dominican geographic sciences, and as co-organizers the Network of Geographical Studies of the Caribbean – Red Geo-Caribe.

The objectives that summon us are:
★ Promote academic and professional exchange between Latin American and Caribbean geographies from their experiences of research, teaching and dialogue of knowledge.
★ Discuss problems, and challenges of the territories in the current context, from a critical perspective.
★ Promote the formation of networks of Latin American and Caribbean geographies, as well as solidarity and collective actions of professionals, linked in the geographical task.
On this occasion, we invite teachers, professionals, researchers, students, members of social organizations and other spaces according to the following modalities to participate in the Meeting and Congress:

GENERAL PARTICIPATION MODALITIES
In general terms, Thematic Tables are expected to receive submissions of Papers and Posters. Likewise, spaces from previous meetings will be maintained, such as Other Forms of Participation, where various productions can be proposed: audiovisuals, cartographies including interactive maps, story maps and other applications, performances, book presentations, among others. The presentations in all their formats will be arbitrated by evaluation commissions.
