While the number, variety and quality of academic papers at the Krakow Regional Conference is impressive, the hospitality of the local hosts has got the delegates really talking!  Delicious canapes and dishes at the ice-breaker party, fine pastries at coffee-time and a wonderful range of options at  lunch (all included in the registration fee) – this has indeed been a meeting of culinary abundance and excellence.  On Tuesday night the delegates were treated to a party at a restaurant in Kaziemierzc, the old jewish quarter of this wonderful city, and again feasted royally on tasty soups and breads to make the mouth water – all served up with local beer and wines.  The local organisers have excelled themselves in all aspects but there is no doubt that their gracious hospitality will live long in the memories of the Geographers here.
