Professor Yansui Liu the Chair IGU-AGLE commission is very honored to be interviewed by the Global Times, an English-language Chinese newspaper under the People’s Daily. The editor Global Times was interested in the role that geographers play in serving the national strategies. (i.e., poverty alleviation and rural revitalization) and improve human well-being by giving full play to our professional advantages. So geography is very important in promoting national development in the Anthropocene era. Geography is a science of the future and Prof. Liu believe geography has a promising future as “scientists have a homeland, but science has no boundaries”.
