International Geographical Union is proud to announce that IGU President Prof.Michael Edward Meadows, University of Cape Town, South Africa and Vice Chair, IGU Commission on Mountain Studies Prof. Irasema Alcantara-Ayala, Institue of Geography, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico, who are now active and integral part of our community have just been appointed International Science Council (ISC) Fellows.
ISC appoints Fellows to support its mission to bring science to society The Fellowship is the highest honor awarded to those championing science in and for society.

Recognised for their service to science for society, these individuals  have and will continue to play an important role in ISC’s mission to use science as a global public good.  They bring a diversity of experience, insight and perspective and I look forward to working with them over the coming months and years,” said ISC President Peter Gluckman
